What We Do

We are seeking to educate young people in the dangers of knife crime and help them to make positive choices to stay safe. Our knife crime prevention workshops will follow the journey of both the victim and the offender through a series of unique and immersive experiences. We will show young people how the choices they make, and the consequences of those choices, are intrinsically linked.

The primary outcome of this project is to improve young victims physical, mental and emotional health and ween them of the addiction of carrying a knife. The project aims to achieve the outcomes of supporting the reduction of violence, knife crime and anti-social behaviour. We aim to achieve an increase in the confidence and self-esteem of young victims, so they may identify and pursue positive opportunities and to motivate and encourage the young people into seeking a greater purpose in life.

Our project will also act as part of the project work with gang members to show them the consequences of the life they are choosing to lead and offering alternative pathways through mentoring, support and job opportunities. As part of the programme, it will try to change the behaviour of whole groups – mainly youth gangs – so that stabbings become unacceptable.

We first build Trust and empathy: We believe it’s important to build this trust and understanding between young people and the authorities. We see this being achieved through community engagement and outreach programs that provide positive role models and encourage open communication.

Knife Crime Impact

KNIFE CRIME IS A SIGNIFICANT ISSUE within the UK: Legally, politically and socially. we have seen knife crime behaviour to include fear of crime and violence, need for protection, desire for social status, previous experience of violent victimisation, peer criminality and distrust of authorities.

OUR MISSION IS SAVING LIVES.!

We believe Knife crime is a health risk for young people – We believe it can’t be solved by policing alone.

We have looked at evidence from Scotland and other counties which suggests that while knife crime, like most crimes, can never be eradicated, it is not really understood as something that is intractable, cultural feature of urban life. To successfully tackle it, however, we believe we can offer an understanding of the root causes of the problem and, therefore, what a durable solution might look like.
